Maine Common Good Coalition is so happy to announce our 2nd annual Mid and Northern Maine Women’s March date is Saturday, March 9th, 2019. We march in honor of International Women’s Day.
And for our UNITY as Women in our Maine CD2 district!
We are the founders and organizers of the original Mid & Northern Maine Women’s March in Bangor and we are so excited to carry on our tradition in 2019!
We have a wonderful lineup of speakers and performers for our event and will be announcing more here in our event upcoming!
Our Mid & Northern Maine Women’s March Speakers and performers!:
~ Isobel Golden, Isobel graduated from Bates College. She has worked on a number of campaigns, including Emily Cain’s 2014 campaign for Congress, and worked as a Legislative Aide for Democratic legislators in the Maine State House and State Senate. She is a 2011 graduate of Emerge Maine and served for two-year term on the Lewiston City Council. She is currently a second-year student at the University of Maine School of Law.
~Maulian Dana, Maulian studied Political Science at University of Maine at Orono. She is the Penobscot Indian Nation Tribal Ambassador. Maulian manages Notyourmascot Maine Chapter.
Maulian is a returning speaker to our Mid & Northern Maine Women’s March.
~Pam Gagnon de Silva is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Domestic Violence Advocate for people using domestic violence advocacy services. She teaches Intimate Partner Violence and Community Response as an adjunct college professor. Pamela has been a women’s advocate for over 30 years.
~Angela Okafor is an immigration attorney at Okafor Law Practice in Bangor, Maine. Angela is the owner and director of Tropical Tastes and Styles LLC- International Market. She studied at Nigerian Law School.
~Stacy Leafsong is an artist, writer, mother, organic homesteader and founder/organizer of Maine Common Good Coalition. Stacy is a domestic violence survivor. Stacy’s efforts to be a voice for the voiceless, are founded living a life in reverence in Nature.
~ Women With Wings has been singing together every Thursday night in Bangor for more than 25 years. We sing simple songs of empowerment, songs that celebrate the cycles of life of women and of the earth, songs that lift us up and draw us together. We sing because we love to, and we are buoyed by the energy we raise and the love we sing into the world.
