Activist Practice: Learn to Sing “I Can’t Keep Quiet” (Thomaston)

March 29, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

You probably have heard the new anthem for the #Resist movement, MILCK’s “I Can’t Keep Quiet.” Perhaps you’ve seen the moving video of the song being sung by a diverse group of young women at the DC Women’s March. It’s time to bring the song home and ready it for use in our ongoing protests.

In preparation for April 8’s I Can’t Keep Quiet Day, when people around the world will gather to sing this song in public locations, we will gather at Union Hall in Thomaston, Maine (170 Main Street) to learn the song in 4-part harmony at a meeting of Midcoast Maine Indivisible on Wednesday, March 29 at 7 pm. This practice session led by a professional choral director will make us ready to gather next Saturday, April 8, to sing the song out loud on the Camden Village Green (11 AM). ALL VOICES, of all genders, all types and all abilities are welcomed. FMI: call 230-0018, e-mail lyndonovan@gmail.com.
