Girls on Fire : Healthy Sexuality for HS Girls (Portland)
May 6 @ 9:00 am - 12:15 pm
In more than 70 interviews with young American women between the ages of 15 and 20, Peggy Orenstein, author of Girls and Sex, discovered a striking sense of sexual disempowerment. The teenagers tended to be preoccupied with how men saw them, to prioritize male satisfaction over their own.
This is often the case of high school girls who are not empowered in their bodies; lacking sexuality education, understanding of their bodies and making healthy choices that feel right to them in relationships versus focusing on a partner .
This forum will cover topics of consent, debunking sexual myths, understanding the female anatomy, pleasure and healthy relationships.
This is a MUST for high school girls. Don’t miss this extraordinary FREE event for our daughters! Girls 14-18 years are allowed to attend. To maintain their confidentiality, comfort and encourage safety no parents or adults older than 18 will be able to attend.
*CONSENT FORMS MUST be signed by parents/guardians of girls under 16 years of age.
*Inclusivity Statement: Interested participants who self-identify as female are welcome to attend.
