Nonviolent Direction Action Training (Waldoboro)
February 18 @ 12:00 pm - 5:30 pm
An approximately five hour preparation session for individuals and/or groups on using strategic nonviolent action to address issues and problems such as the current threats to the health and safety of people of this country and the planet by the current Trump administration and its supporters.
The goal of the workshop is to give people a grounding in the history, current applications, and strategic use of nonviolent direct action and to encourage the formation of action groups to apply the workshop in real life situations.
Segments of the preparation session include introductions, goals for the day, background and history of nonviolent direct action, cross spectrum role play, affinity group formation, legal issues, strategic thinking and action, more role plays, fears and feelings, and wrap up and next steps. Background handouts are provided or available.
Trainers are available to present this workshop. Cost is by donation, on a sliding scale (pay what you can or make a donation).
