Overdose Prevention & Response Training

This training is designed to educate and assist “regular” people (also known as laypeople) with the skills needed to effectively identify and respond to an opiate overdose. In addition, participants will learn about what can cause an overdose to occur, current drug trends in our community, the Maine law in regards to naloxone (Narcan) accessibility, and the different preparations of naloxone. The group will also look at ways to keep their immediate community safe by discussing things like bathroom checks, response protocols, placement of naloxone kits and emergency boxes, etc. By the end of the training, participants will have the skills to respond to an opiate overdose. There will be a brief comprehension quiz and a certificate of completion.
