Resist: Skills to Fight Back for Maine’s Environment (Hallowell)
April 25, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
We’re back at it again – and this time we’re coming to Augusta!
The time has come to resist the onslaught of attacks from the Trump administration and work together to protect our environment, our health, and our way of life. Join us to learn the skills you need to be a powerful activist right now.
First, you will learn about the current threats and our efforts to protect our public lands, defend the Clean Air Act, and preserve the EPA’s budget. Then you will learn the skills to make a difference: how to lobby your legislators on issues that matter to you, how to craft a powerful message, and how to effectively communicate your message.
There will be a lot of fun actions to take and plenty of networking with fellow Mainers who want to take a stand right now for Maine’s environment. We will provide some light refreshments, so please be sure to grab dinner before the event starts.
Cohosted by Maine Conservation Voters, Natural Resources Council of Maine, Appalachian Mountain Club, Maine Public Health Association, and The Wilderness Society.
