Training in Non-Violent Action and Resistance
December 16, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
In these tumultuous times, many of us feel the need to expand beyond our comfort zones to take action in our communities and beyond. But what is the best way to make a difference? How do we decide where to direct our activist energy?
These questions will be addressed at this training, open to all at no charge (optional donations for the trainers are welcome). Join us to learn about legal risks and strategies, safety tips, letter and media campaigns, peaceful protesting, affinity groups, and other important information for effective nonviolent action and resistance.
When: 12:00-5:00 p.m., Saturday, December 16th
Where: Peace & Justice Center of Eastern Maine, 96 Harlow St., Bangor, ME 04401
Who: Sponsored by Indivisible: Bangor, Mainers for Accountable Leadership, and Resources for Organizing and Social Change – ROSC.
We will have some beverages and snacks, but please plan to bring your own lunch. Young children are welcome if an adult is available to help keep an eye on them. Teens will be warmly welcomed.
**Please RSVP by email (IBGRaction@gmail.com) so we may plan for space and supplies.**
