Tuesday Action: Collins, King and Poliquin (Bangor)

May 16, 2017 @ 11:45 am - 2:00 pm

The House AHCA is unpopular and only passed the House by a handful of votes. Every Senate Democrat opposes it, and we need to persuade only three Republicans to join them.

Tomorrow we’ll first meet with Senator Collins’ State Office Representative, Carol Woodcock.

Here, we’ll remind Senator Collins that the American people want her to do all she can to stop the AHCA from becoming law and that single payer is the best solution for all.

Additionally, we’ll continue to press for a special prosecutor and an independent investigation into Trump’s Campaign and Russia. We’ll remind her that these are extraordinary times, and as Dan Rather said ” … extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures.”

After, we’ll go to Senator King’s office to check-in and say thanks! He has come out publically in support of a special prosecutor and independent investigation. We’ll remind him to stand firm on this and in opposition to the AHCA.

Then, stick with us as we head over to Congressman Poliquin’s office.

We’ll let Poliquin know that we’re still here, that we haven’t forgotten about the American Health Care Act and we’ll hold Republicans accountable for the vote on this terrible bill.

This is a great opportunity to be engaged in the political process at this critical time in our nation’s history.
